Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born in 18 July 1918. He had 5 kids named Makaziwe, Zindziswa,
Zenani, Makgatho, and Madiba Mandela. Nelson was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist
who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
He was the country's first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. Mandela was arrested in a countrywide police swoop on 5 December
1956, which led to the 1956 Treason Trial. Men and women of all races found themselves in
the dock in the marathon trial that only ended when the last 28 accused, including Mandela.
He died 5 December 2013.

Facts.

1. Mandela and his cousin Justice ran away from home in 1941 to avoid arranged marriages.
2. During his lifetime, Mandela received more than 695 awards, including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize.
3. Mandelas prison number was 46664 that was to indicate he was the 466th prisoner
